Historical Background

1920 The first three Sisters arrived in Sapporo, Japan, from Germany. They were Sr. M. Jeanne Berchmans Salomon, Sr. M. Xavera Lehme, and Sr. M. Candida von der Haar.
1925 Opening of the Fuji Girls’ High School (5-years)
1947 Opening of the Fuji Women’s Technical College (3-years)
1948 According to a change in the School System of Japan, Fuji Girls’ High School was reestablished to Fuji Girls’ Junior High School and Senior High School (altogether 6-years).
1950 Fuji Women’s Technical College was reestablished to Fuji Women’s Junior College (2- years).
1961 Opening of Fuji Women’s College (4-year program).
Establishment of the Faculty of Humanities (Department of 沙巴体育平台_沙巴体育app-官网 Literature, Department of Japanese Literature)
1992 Opening of Hanakawa Campus of Fuji Women’s College.
Establishment of the Faculty of Human Life Sciences (Department of Human Life Studies, Department of Food and Nutrition)
2000 Established the Department of Arts and Sciences in the Faculty of Humanities and the Department of Early Childhood Care and Education in the Faculty of Human Life Sciences.
Fuji Women’s Junior College was reestablished to be integrated to Fuji Women’s College.
2002 Opening of the Graduate School of Fuji Women’s University.
Established the Graduate School of Human Life Sciences (Specialization in Human Life Studies, Specialization in Food and Nutrition)
2024 Opening of Fuji-Tenshi Educational Corporation
2025 Renamed the Faculty of Human Life Sciences to the Faculty of Well-being Studies, the Department of Human Life Studies to the Department of Regional Well-being, and the Department of Food and Nutrition to the Department of Food Environment.
Renamed the Graduate School of Human Life Sciences to the Graduate School of Well-being Studies, the specialization in Human Life Studies to the specialization in Well-being, and the specialization in Food and Nutrition to the specialization in Food Environment.
